The Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Special Duties, Hon. Akan Okon has charged Akwa Ibomites to uphold the virtues of integrity and honesty in all their dealings as these are cardinal progress and success in life.
He gave the indication yesterday while representing His Excellency the Governor at the price presentation to beneficiaries of the Dakkada Business Summit.
The event organised by the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management saw a large crowd of jubilant Akwa Ibomites throng the Ibom Plaza amphitheatre to witness the epoch ceremony.
Mr. Okon lauded his principal, Governor Udom for keeping his promise and described him as a perfect model in integrity, sincerity and honesty, urging Akwa Ibomites to emulate him.
Governor Udom Emmanuel he maintained was fully committed to the welfare and emancipation of all Akwa Ibomites and that this unparalleled gesture will birth viable businesses across the State and also motivate citizens to rise to the faith of greatness as enshrined in the Dakkada Creed.
“Governor Udom Emmanuel believes that citizens of Akwa Ibom should not beg, he believes we have the ability to do exceptional things. At the last Dakkada summit, exceptional young persons with viable business ideas were identified and government promised to support them to expand their businesses with 1 million each and i’m happy that today they’ve been given the money to grow and expand their businesses. From the testimony of Kingsley one of the beneficiaries who returned money found in his tricycle, its clear that honesty and integrity is key”, he said.
The Housing and Special Duties Boss expressed optimism that the price monies doled out to the beneficiaries will be judiciously used. Impressed by the mammoth crowd at the event, Mr. Okon drummed support for Governor Udom’s second term bid and urged the attendees to reciprocate the Governor’s magnanimity towards them so far at the helm by returning him to the Hilltop Mansion come 2019. He urged the people to be steadfast in their support for the Governor and not be swayed by detractors and mischief makers
